Course Description
Working in the world of education is a highly rewarding career path. This course is an introductory teaching qualification that prepares learners for employment, and supports them to progress to a teaching role within the workplace. It has been developed for those intending to work in the post-16 education and training sector.
As a nationally accredited qualification, the Level 3 Award in Education and Training opens up a range of opportunities, both for those new to teaching, and those who are already working in education and need a formal qualification.
Career Progression & Entry Requirements
Learners must be at least 19 years of age, and will have to undertake an initial assessment of their English, Maths, and ICT skills.
The possibilities for career progression after successfully completing this qualification are varied. The learner can go on to complete further training, with the goal of progressing to a teaching role. Â
Alternatively, upon completion of the course, learners are qualified to apply for roles in post-16 teaching roles, and teaching assistant roles. Popular career choices include teaching in a college, or providing in-house training.
Course Content
This is a 3 unit course, which combines classroom learning and practical application. Optional modules allow the learner to tailor their experience to suit their current circumstances.Â
It covers:
- Roles, responsibilities and relationships in education
- Facilitating learning, including the use of inclusive teaching approaches
- Understanding the role of assessment
Course Details
Programme Duration: 120 hrs (48 Guided Learning Hours)
Professional Registration: Upon successful completion of this training, you will be certified to teach in the post-16 education and training sector.
