Sports Massage Therapy Level 3 provides the skills and knowledge required for a career as either an employed or self-employed sports massage therapist.
The information covered in this course will allow the learner to plan, provide and evaluate sports massage treatments for a wide range of conditions for both sporting and non-sporting clients.
Career Progression & Entry Requirements
Learners should be over 16 and be fit enough to perform sports massage.
Sports Massage Therapy Level 3 can allow the learner to gain employment and obtain insurance to work as an employed or self-employed sports massage therapist within sports massage therapy/ osteopathic clinics, and sporting/fitness venues.
Sports Massage Therapy Level 3 also makes the learner eligible to register with the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) as a massage therapist.
This comprehensive course aims to equip the learner with the knowledge and understanding to plan, provide and evaluate sports massage treatments for pre-, post-, and inter-event maintenance and restorative purposes.
It covers training in:
- Anatomy and physiology for sports massage
- Principles of health and fitness
- Understand the principles of soft tissue dysfunction
- Professional practice in sports massage
- Sports massage treatments
