Course Description
The Leisure Team Member is an important and varied role supporting the running of busy leisure and fitness facilities (including Gyms, Swimming pools and sports halls). It is a role with a wide range of responsibilities and offers real opportunities for progression to the right candidates.Â
Working as part of a team, the Leisure Team Member will ensure the facilities are maintained to a high standard while delivering an exceptional customer experience.
A Leisure Team Member has a positive ‘can-do’ attitude. They are driven, friendly and approachable, with strong interpersonal skills.
Career Progression & Entry Requirements
Possible routes for career progression include Duty Manager and other more senior management positions.
Course Content
It covers a range of training in:
- Customer Service training including overall services awareness
- Equipment Handling
- Instructor Training
- Customer Safety and the legal and regulatory requirements
- Activity and personalised training planning
- Leadership Skills
Course Details
Programme Duration: Typically, 18 months
Professional Registration: On successful completion of this apprenticeship the Leisure Team member will be eligible to become an affiliate member of the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA).
