Career Level Manager
The Leisure Team Member is an important and varied role supporting the running of busy leisure and fitness facilities (including Gyms, Swimming pools and sports halls). It is a role with a wide range of responsibilities and offers real opportunities for progression to the right candidates.
Working as part of a team, the Leisure Team Member will ensure the facilities are maintained to a high standard while delivering an exceptional customer experience.
A Leisure Team Member has a positive ‘can-do’ attitude. They are driven, friendly and approachable, with strong interpersonal skills.
Career Progression & Entry Requirements
Possible routes for career progression include Duty Manager and other more senior management positions.
It covers a range of training in:
- Customer Service training including overall services awareness
- Equipment Handling
- Instructor Training
- Customer Safety and the legal and regulatory requirements
- Activity and personalised training planning
- Leadership Skills
Programme Duration: Typically, 18 months
Professional Registration: On successful completion of this apprenticeship the Leisure Team member will be eligible to become an affiliate member of the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA).
