Course Description
A Leisure Duty Manager is responsible for the day-to-day running of a leisure facility (including swimming pools, fitness suites, outdoor sports tracks, and even creches). It is a varied role with a range of responsibilities, and offers real opportunities for progression to the right candidates.Â
Typically a leadership role, the Leisure Duty Manager position will focus on ensuring that staff are delivering an outstanding customer experience. This is a hands-on role, with responsibility for front-line operation of the facility.Â
A Leisure Duty Manager has a positive ‘can do’ attitude. They are driven, friendly and approachable, with strong interpersonal skills.
Career Progression & Entry Requirements
Leisure Duty Managers will typically have experience in the leisure industry. Learners must have both English and Maths GCSE qualifications at grade C or above (or approved equivalent). This must be completed before the completion of the apprenticeship.
Possible routes for career progression include Centre Manager, Area Manager, or Leadership roles in larger facilities.
